Attestation according EN 10204

Attestation of technical delivery compliance

On customer request, JAKO issues two different attestations:

  • “Material“ attestation regarding the materials used in the measuring instrument, e.g. for the material of the parts in contact with measuring media
  • “Product“ attestation for the confirmation of the specification- and standard-compliant device design. e.g. for pressure gauges in accordance with EN 837, as well as of metrological properties, e.g. factory calibration certificate

1. Purpose of an attestation in accordance with EN 10204

This is a confirmation of the manufacturer that the technical delivery conditions and standards for the supplied products were complied with.

JAKO issues the following attestation in accordance with EN 10204 (for detailed information refer to section 3, table):

  • 2.1 Declaration of compliance with the order
  • 2.2 Test report
  • 3.1 Inspection certificate

2.2 Test report

Declaration of compliance with the order with specification of results of non-specific test

3.1 Inspection certificate

Declaration of compliance with the order with specification of results of non-specific test

IMPORTANT NOTE:

The 3.1 inspection certificate under the current version of the standard
EN 10204:2004 corresponds with the
3.1B inspection certificate under the former version of the standard EN 10204:1995
specific

the inspection representative of the manufacturer  independent of the production department

3.2 Inspection certificate

Declaration of compliance with the order with specification of results of specific test

IMPORTANT NOTE:

The 3.2 inspection certificate under the current version of the standard EN 10204:2004 corresponds with the 3.1A and 3.1C inspection certificate under the former version of the standard EN 10204:1995

specific

the inspection representative of the manufacturer independent of the production department

and

the inspection representative of the ordering party or the inspection representative specified in the official regulations

4. Different types of test procedures depending on the attestation

There are different attestations depending on the type of test carried out, i.e. either attestation on the basis of "specific tests“ (inspection certificate 3.1 or inspection certificate 3.2) or attestation for "non-specific tests" (declaration of compliance with the order 2.1 or test report 2.2).

4.1. Specific tests

For specific tests, the tests must be carried out on the actual delivery, be that an inspection of the entire delivery, a lot inspection or random check. The respective supply contract or the agreed delivery terms are decisive for the scope of the test.

4.2 Non-specific tests

The manufacturer decides on suitable procedures to determine whether products that have been manufactured according to the same product specifications and using the same processes meet the requirements set out in the purchase order. In this case, it is not mandatory that the tested products are part of the actual delivery.

5. Application examples for pressure device components

Examples for the required test certificates in the scope of application of the Pressure Equipment Directive:

5.1. Important pressure-bearing components (jackets, bases, main flanges, tube plates for heat exchangers etc.) for pressure devices of the category II, III and IV

a) If the manufacturer has a certified QA system: inspection certificate 3.1 EN 10204

b) If the manufacturer does not have a certified QA system: inspection certificate 3.2 EN 10024

5.2. Important pressure-bearing components (jackets, bases, main flanges, tube plates for heat exchangers etc.) for pressure devices of the category I as well as other pressure components of devices of the category I, II, III and IV:

For these, a test report 2.2 EN 10204 is sufficient
